In this tutorial I will show you how to replace a broken, cracked or defective screen on Acer Aspire 5733, 5733Z, 5742G, 5749, 5250 laptop notebooks . The Acer Aspire 5733, 5733Z, 5742G, 5749, 5250 laptop series come solely with 15.6 HD LED LCD widescreen displays (16:9) with resolution of 1366 x 768. In this blog I will show you how to remove and change damaged screen of the Acer Aspire AS5733, AS5733Z, AS5742G, AS5749, AS5250 laptops and replace with a good one.
For this replacement you will need precision screwdrivers and the laptop screen.
Remove the laptop battery from the Acer Aspire series before starting the screen repair to avoid further damage.
On the bottom sides of Acer Aspire 5733, 5733Z, 5742G, 5749, 5250 laptop series you wil find the screw covers made of plastic or rubber .
Remove these plastic covers to expose the screws .
Remove the screws after taking off the cover.
Put your fingers between the screen and the bezel as shown in the picture on the left and start pulling slightly on all the sides until the bezel is pulled free from the laptop. Doing this will cause clicking sounds. This is from the internal catches holding the bezel to the laptop.
Acer Aspire5733, 5733Z, 5742G, 5749, 5250 bezel is very fragile and easy to snap so you must do this with care. Pull carefully but firmly to release it from the notebook. At this point the internal part of the screen area will be visible. From the top two sides remove the screw holding down the screen. You will also find three screws on the sides holding the screen tight to the hinges arms. Unscrew them and keep them safe.  
Place the screen face down after unscrewing and at this point the screen cable, connections and screen part number will be visible. The screen part number will look like B156XW02 V.6, LP156WH4, LTN156AT17, N156B6-L0B and others.
Disconnect the screen data connection carefull by first peeling up the clear tape holding it down. The screen removal process is complete. To replace the screen you only need to carry out the instruction in a reverse order.

| In this tutorial you will learn how to disassemble and replace cracked laptop screen Dell Inspiron M5040, M5050, M5110, N5040, N5050, N5110 Laptop Notebooks. The Dell Inspiron M5040, M5050, M5110, N5040, N5050 laptop come with 15.6 inch HD WLED display monitor panel with resolution of 1366 x 768 Truelife display. Before starting the screen replacement make sure you have the right screen to install.
The First and important thing is to remove the laptop battery before starting the replacement.
Dell Inspiron M5040, M5050, M5110, N5040, N5050 and M5110 laptop mostly will not come with any screws in the bezel. All that is needed to remove the bezel is to put your finger between the screen and the plastic bezel and pull carefully until it released. Do this on all sides of the laptop.
The bezel of the Dell laptops are very fragile and pulling too hard may snap it. So the best trick is to pull firmly but not too hard.
By successfully removing the bezel you the internal part of the screen is now accessible. At the top two sides of the screen remove the screws holding it to the back cover and keep them safely.  On the two bottom sides there will be 2 or 3 screws. Unscrew them to free the screen arms totally from the back cover.
At this point the screen can now be lowered to reveal the screen cables and LED connection. This area must be handled with care. The Dell Inspiron M5040, M5050, M5110, N5040, N5050, N5110 laptop screen will carry the manufacturer part number at the back and as Dell do not make these screens you will find part numbers belonging to Samsung, LG Philips, Chi Mei Innolux, Chunghwa or AUO AU Optronics. These are the major laptop screen panel manufacturers. Below are the manufacturer numbers you may see and you can also use these numbers to search for the right screen; LP156WH2, LP156WH4 made by LG Philips LTN156AT05, LTN156AT09, LTN156AT17 made by Samsung N156B6, N156BGE-L21, made by Chi Mei Innolux CLAA156WA11,CLAA156WA11Amade by Chunghwa B156XW02 made by AUO.
On the two sides of the screen remove all the screws holding the screen to the hinges arms and keep them safely.  Disconnect the Led cable. Note that sometimes this connection is held down by a clear tape. Raise and peel the clear tape with a flat screwdriver before disconnecting the cable. The screen removal process is now complete. To install a new screen simply carry out the whole process backward (in reverse order).

 Use a flat screwdriver or any flat object to start pulling the screen front bezel as shown in the image on the left.  Continue to move the flat object between the screen back cover and the bezel to fully seperate them.  Close the laptop slightly as on the image on the right and with the aid of a flat screwdriver pull free the end of the plastic cover as shown on the image on the right.  You can now fully remove the plastic bezel carefully.  Remove the screw holding the screen to the backcover. Click on the image on the right to enlarge.  Pull the screen bracket carefully to free the screen fully.  Please the screen facedown and at this time the screen cable and part number will be visible. The Alienware M11X laptop comes with LP116WH2-TLC1, B116XW01 or LTN116AT02. Because the Alienware laptops are made by Dell the screen DP/N number will be ODWVMD or 0DWVMD.  Disconnect the screen cable but first remember to peel the clear tape holding it down. At this point the screen removal process is complete.
