Into 2011 - 2010-12-21 00:50:00
We approach the end of another highly successful year for Chard. Despite wider uncertainties in the UK economy, London has remained a honey pot for investors, once again proving the nay-sayers wrong. The prospects for 2011 are excellent. We are registering strong interest from buyers and tenants and the only limiting factor is the paucity of property to let and sell. The prospects for the London market in 2011 look well assured.
Interior Design and Makeover Adds £100,000 to Value - 2010-11-11 17:50:00
The living room neutral decor features throughout - making it simple and cost effective to add colour and texture with furnishings and paintings according to the new owner's taste and styleChard's in-house Interior Design and Property Refurbishment team, led by Steve Hewitt has just completed an interior design, makeover and decor project for a client in Kensington, W8. The total interior re-modelling had been estimated by contractors at as much as £45,000. Steve's team was able to complete all the interior refurbishment and interior design works with a total budget of £35,000. The results speak for themselves and the client is delighted. Steve used neutral decorative tones throughout. The budget was inadequate to accomodate limestone tiling in the bathroom, although the bathroom (as well as kitchen) were both totally new. Instead he acheived the "look" using ceramic tiles. Getting the interior decor of a property, especially for buy to let is essential and this is a text book case on creating a welcoming, contemporary living space on a very finite budget. The project is estimated to have added £100,000 to the re-sale value and was featured in a recent edition of London's Evening Standard newspaper as an example of a succesful interior re-design and refurbishment project. |
Families Want to Move to be "In For Christmas" - 2010-11-01 09:00:00
With just a few short weeks before all thoughts turn towards Christmas, now is an excellent time to be letting a property in London. Our central London lettings teams have literally hundreds of applicants – including leading city banks and multi-nationals – actively looking to house senior employees to be “in for Christmas”. With fewer properties on the market than we’ve seen for several years, competition is fierce, and we are regularly securing rental prices in excess of landlords’ expectations. Large companies who need to relocate senior employees with families are always conscious of the need to minimize disruption to family life – and the long traditional school break over Christmas makes immediate pre-Christmas move-ins especially popular. Family houses are especially in demand. If you have a property to let, we’re here to help. Please contact your local branch office for free and confidential appraisal today.
