 Since we’ve been renovating our home I’ve been looking for “temporaryfixes” for problem walls that we’re not yet ready to permanently paintor paper yet. Anyone who has lived in a renovation knows what I’mtalking about; sometimes it might be budget-related and you can’t yetfix a room the way you want yet or maybe it’s a domino effect; you can’tfix one problem until you finish another. Well for us it’s both and soto deal with it I’ve been resorting to papering some of our problemwalls (this one in our hall), another is the downstairs bathroom withtemporary wallpaper solutions. I’ve been loving the nautical look thisspring so I createdthis printable paperusing vintage ship photo’s I’vefound on theflickr commons site. The result, a cool paper that is soeasy to apply to a feature wall. Obviously you can’t cover large walls,but this idea is a great fix for smaller areas – and fun thing –it’salso perfect for Father’s Day wrapping paper!Clickhereto download. We'vebeen enjoying days filled with glorious sunshine and warmth since lastweekend, something that I could get very used to! Patio season seems tobe officially here (fingers crossed, anyway!) and it's time to startadding some personality to our freshly stained deck. While we're not alllucky enough to have a screened-in porch or covered patio, it doesn'ttake much to make your outdoor space feel like an extension of yourindoor living space...some pillows, an area rug and colourful accentscan all work wonders! We've come a long way from the aluminum and mesh foldingchairs that I grew up with! Vintage and wicker pieces are also greatoptions, as long as they're kept somewhat dry and under cover.     Whetheryour outdoor space is a tiny urban balcony or a large covered deck onthe outskirts of town, it doesn't need to be an expensive task to extendyour living space outside. Use what you already have, scour thriftshops or snoop through your Dad's garden shed...you'll be surprised atwhat you may find to create the perfect outdoor room! ***Lily co-writes with Rachel over at Birch + Bird. Scout Handmade + Vintage Market will take place May 25th-26th in Abbotsford, BC and will include 50 talented handmade + vintage vendors in a pop-up style setting atThe Parallel Marketplace. Friday night will be open to ticket holders and invited guests only for a sneak peek evening of shopping, wine+cheese and live entertainment.
